Tom Cruise returns as Maverick and speeds through the sky in the first official trailer for the Top Gun sequel.
The promotional campaign for Top Gun: Maverick kicked off at San Diego Comic-Con, where Paramount Pictures premiered the first trailer for the upcoming film. The first Top Gun film was released in 1986 and is arguably one of Tom Cruise’s most iconic movies. A sequel to the film has been in development for years, but suffered a halt due to director Tony Scott’s death.
Years later, development for the sequel finally took off. Tom Cruise and the cast appeared in San Diego to unveil the first trailer at this year’s Comic- Con. Filming for Top Gun: Maverick took place in San Diego when production began back in 2018. Now, the newly-released trailer for Top Gun: Maverick finally makes the sequel a reality and sees the highly-anticipated return of Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer. In addition to the trailer, Paramount also revealed a brand new poster for the Top Gun sequel.
