Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is an upcoming anime series produced by Netflix in coordination with Square Enix. The series follows the events of the Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider trilogy and stars Hayley Atwell as the titular adventurer. A brand new teaser has been released debuting a first look at the show:
Despite at one point being one of the most famous properties in gaming, the Tomb Raider franchise has fallen on rocky times in recent years, with games like Uncharted leaving the series wanting for their own identity. It’s unclear if Hayley Atwell will be able to breathe new life into the character in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, but it’ll certainly be an interesting experiment in Netflix’s continued efforts to bring anime to the west.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is an upcoming Netflix anime series set to follow the legendary Lara Croft in her adventures as the Tomb Raider. Details about the series are being kept close to the chest, though is one of the many projects commissioned by Square Enix in an attempt to reignite passion for the franchise.
The series is penned by Tasha Huo, who also wrote Netflix’s acclaimed The Witcher: Blood Origin anime series and will pick up shortly after Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the final game in the rebooted trilogy from Crystal Dynamics. Hayley Atwell stars as the titular Lara Croft, most recently lending her voice talents to Marvel Studios’ What If…?, where she reprised her role as Peggy Carter.
The Netflix series currently has no scheduled release date.
