The official working title for Tom Hardy’s Venom 2 has been revealed.
According to Production Weekly, Tom Hardy’s Venom sequel is gearing up to begin production this November. However, Venom 2 has already received an official working title for when shooting starts and it’s “Fillmore.”
While “Fillmore” doesn’t immediately have any comic book ties or Easter eggs relating to Tom Hardy’s Venom, the only notable reference is The Fillmore music venue in San Francisco. Since the first Venom film saw Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock living in San Francisco, that seems like the only logical connection.
Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role as Eddie Brock in the yet-to-be titled Venom sequel. Andy Serkis is directing Venom 2 from a script by Kelly Marcel, with Tom Hardy’s co-stars set to include returning actors Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson. It is widely believed Sony intends to release Tom Hardy’s Venom 2 on October 2, 2020, a date the studio is currently holding for an untitled Marvel project.
The first Venom movie follows Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock as he attempts to revive his journalism career by investigating the Life Foundation only to come into contact with an alien symbiote that bonds with him, granting him powers and transforming him into the titular anti-hero. It’s the second iteration of Venom seen on the big screen as Topher Grace played the character in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3.
Venom is currently available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news on the upcoming sequel with Tom Hardy!
