‘Venom 3’ Star Juno Temple Reveals If She Feels Pressure After ‘Madame Web’ Flopped

Does Juno Temple feel the pressure?

Is everything riding on Venom: The Last Dance? Juno Temple speaks on if she feels any pressure following the failure of Madame Web.

Sony’s Spider-Man universe is on the verge of crumbling. While the Venom franchise has always done well, it seems every other swing the studio takes at a live-action film flops hard. Morbius died twice at the box office due to memes and mockery, and Madame Web was historic in how horribly it performed, especially when compared to other Marvel movies.

In fact, Madame Web flopped so hard it apparently soured Sony on even making live-action Spider-Man projects. This has led all eyes to Venom: The Last Dance, which many view as either the savior or death rattle of this era of Marvel films. Yet with all those expectations, there’s certainly a lot of pressure.

Juno Temple Speaks On The Pressure Of Madame Web

Juno Temple is a prolific actress, having starred in massive projects like Ted Lasso and Maleficent. However, action blockbusters are a whole different ball game, let alone ones carrying Sony’s hopes and dreams on its shoulders. When asked if she felt any pressure for Venom: The Last Dance to succeed following Madame Web‘s failure, Temple admitted that she really doesn’t.

“I can honestly say that I’m not programmed to think about it like that,” Temple told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s quite new for me to be a part of a movie of this size. I’m just hoping that I did the best job I could on a [movie] that was a really amazing thing to be involved in.”

“I hope that whether the five people go to see it or whether 500 go see it, or more, I hope that they enjoy it and it takes them out of their everyday lives for a minute.”

In a world where movies solely chase box office results, it’s good to hear that Juno Temple is focused on having a good time when it comes to Venom: The Last Dance. The same certainly wasn’t true for the cast of Madame Web! Though maybe, with this new attitude, Sony can also find its new footing in the Marvel universe.

Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25, 2024.  Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
