Could Knull have been scarier in Venom: The Last Dance? Newly released concept art from the film shows an alternate design for Andy Serkis’ Marvel villain.
Despite how hyped up Knull was in the lead-up to Venom: The Last Dance, very little was seen from Andy Serkis’ take on the character in the final product of the film. It almost seemed as though every shot of the character was pulled out and used in the trailers. While Knull certainly looked fearsome, it’s not a stretch to say fans were hoping for more from the villain.
There may have originally been plans to do more with Andy Serkis’ Knull in Venom: The Last Dance. A new batch of concept art from artist and art director Karl Lindberg gives fans a clear look at the original redesign the film was going to give the character, complete with a sword of blood and teeth straight out of a Mortal Kombat game.
Andy Serkis’ Future As Knull After Venom: The Last Dance
It was made abundantly clear in the promotion for Venom: The Last Dance that the film only serves as a start to Knull’s story on the silver screen. Andy Serkis has also reportedly signed on for multiple films as the God of Darkness. Though given Tom Hardy has officially hung up the cowl as Venom, it’s unclear what exactly this supposed future holds.
The concept art leaning away from Knull’s symbiote origins could suggest that Sony is teeing the character up to serve as a villain for a Sinister Six movie. Then again, with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man set to get his own symbiote in the next trilogy, it’s possible they want Andy Serkis to be the antagonist of some sort of crossover film.
