‘Hawkeye’ Star Vincent D’Onofrio Doesn’t Let Toxic MCU Fans Get To Him

Wilson Fisk brushes it all off!

Vincent D'Onofrio Daredevil Kingpin Hawkeye MCU

Hawkeye star Vincent D’Onofrio revealed that he doesn’t allow toxic MCU fans to get to him.

With every fandom, there is always a group of extremely passionate members. Often times, those members can use their shared love of something for good, whereas some toxic people may try to sour it for everyone with unsavory actions. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is no exception, and although the franchise has given devoted fans as much content as it ever released in 2021 alone, with the next few years only further expanding, some may feel a sense of entitlement over things not going their way, including in the case for its newest series Hawkeye.

In the case for Wilson Fisk/Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio, he brushes off any hate from toxic MCU fans. When asked about dealing with trolls, the actor, whom reprised his role from the Netflix series Daredevil in Hawkeye, shared details on how he reacts to such toxic MCU fans to comicbook.com:

“I did. But, what I did was, I just stopped… I put them in a box where they don’t exist and I ignored them for a long period of time. They’ve just kind of gone away. Every once in a while, one will show up, and I just ignore it. Because I think that there’s too much going on in the world to perpetuate negative stuff. I used to get combative, and it was hurting nobody but myself.”

There is nothing productive about trolling actors and actresses about their work in television and film. Often times, when a performer is involved in a beloved intellectual property, if the product dissatisfies toxic fans, some feel the need to troll and/or harass actors and actresses involved. Thankfully, Hawkeye’s Vincent D’Onofrio ignores such trolling from toxic MCU fans, and understands that it’s better to just brush it all off.

Vincent D’Onofrio can currently be seen in Hawkeye. Here is the synopsis:

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Florence Pugh also returned in her Black Widow role.

The first season of Hawkeye is now available to stream on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the future of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin in the MCU, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
