Hawkeye star Vincent D’Onofrio is hopeful that Kingpin will reunite with Vanessa onscreen in the future.

Marvel Studios’ newest series Hawkeye just wrapped its first season, and the finale featured the highly-anticipated return of one Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio). The character was last seen in Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil, and following that series’ cancellation, hasn’t been seen since 2018. With his exciting return to the role, some have wondered if the love of Kingpin’s life, Vanessa Marianna-Fisk will also return.

While speaking with Rotten Tomatoes about his role, Vincent D’Onofrio revealed that he approached his return under the assumption that it’s the same character we’ve seen in Netflix’s Daredevil:

“Oh, sure. I don’t know how much it’s going to matter. But I do know that in my mind, and in the mind of the people I was working with on Hawkeye, that they connected as many dots as possible, for my sake. And some were impossible.”

In regards to the potential return of his former co-star Ayelet Zurer, Vincent D’Onofrio is holding out hope that Kingpin will reunite onscreen with Vanessa again:

“I hope so. Yeah.”

With the return of both Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin in Hawkeye as well as Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it’s an exciting time for fans that wanted to see at the very least, those two actors return to the roles that they brought wondrously to life for three seasons together. In regards to where the future holds for them, who knows? But at the very least, we will be watching with much focus.

Vincent D’Onofrio returned as Kingpin in Hawkeye. Here is the synopsis:

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Florence Pugh also returned in her Black Widow role.
