Is Kingpin finally going to be in Spider-Man 4? Vincent D’Onofrio speaks on the most pervasive rumor since he’s made his return as the villain in the MCU.
Despite the project reportedly filming this month, there’s been almost no (verifiable) leaks about the plot of Spider-Man 4. This has led many to (perhaps delusionally) hope that the film could return the beloved wall-crawler back to the grounded stakes that started his time in the MCU. And when it comes to who could be a grounded villain for a Spider-Man film, minds immediately shoot to Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin.
Vincent D’Onofrio has been very open about his desire to face off against Spider-Man in the MCU. Given Kingpin was originally a Spider-Man villain, it would make sense for the character to return to his roots and face off against the web-head at least once on the silver screen. And since Matt Murdock as already in the last film, having his biggest rival appear in Spider-Man 4 could be an interesting echoic callback to signify the character’s new standing in the universe.
Will Kingpin Be In Spider-Man 4?
Though as with any rumor, there’s a fine line between believing and lying on the internet. This line was seemingly crossed the other day when an aggregator account posted that Vincent D’Onofrio was confirmed to return as Kingpin in Spider-Man 4. This led the actor to reply himself, admitting that he didn’t realize he was going to be appearing in an MCU film so soon!

Of course, is it possible that Vincent D’Onofrio is lying and that he will appear as Kingpin in Spider-Man 4? Absolutely. However, all signs point to the film being focused on the MCU’s current Multiverse Saga, leaving little room for a truly grounded story. While it’s likely the two will face off sooner than later, it being the “next movie” may be a bit TOO soon for even that.
