Is Peter Parker finally facing off against the Kingpin? Vincent D’Onofrio reveals if Wilson Fisk and Daredevil will have any sort of role in Spider-Man 4.
The one thing fans have been begging for ever since Peter Parker first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is to see the character have a truly street-level saga. And with Spider-Man 4 set to be a new beginning for the beloved hero, fans have been crossing their fingers hoping that this dream becomes a reality. The time also couldn’t be better, with Daredevil: Born Again setting Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin up for a brawl with the wall crawler!
There’s actually been a long history of speculation regarding Kingpin and Spider-Man facing off in the MCU before Spider-Man 4. One of the biggest rumors leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home was actually that Wilson Fisk hired Kraven the Hunter to take down Spider-Man. While this obviously never played out, Vincent D’Onofrio has been very vocal about bringing the world of Daredevil into a much friendlier neighborhood.
Will Kingpin Be In Spider-Man 4?
Vincent D’Onofrio recently addressed speculation about Kingpin appearing in Spider-Man 4 during an interview promoting Daredevil: Born Again. When Meltdown Press joked that they probably couldn’t ask him about the film, D’Onofrio clarified that neither he nor Charlie Cox will be appearing in Spider-Man 4 — despite the persistent rumors.
“Well, for you, we’re not. You can ask that because we’re not in Spider-Man 4, or at least nobody has told me that we are. And, but, you know, I’m just saying that to Charlie, Adam only because we’ve had a lot of, we’ve done a lot of interviews and most of them hadn’t really thought that through.”
Of course, it’s always possible that Vincent D’Onofrio is lying and both Kingpin and Daredevil will appear in Spider-Man 4. However, given other reports suggesting that the project may be tying into the end of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga, it’s more likely than not that dreams of a truly street-level trilogy for the beloved webhead may be just out of reach.
