Is Elizabeth Olsen getting a fresh role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? A new rumor suggests the Marvel star will be playing an entirely new character in the upcoming Vision series.
After literal years of the rumor mill fueling speculation, Marvel is finally starting to deliver official news about the upcoming Vision series coming to Disney Plus. It was recently revealed that James Spader will be returning as Ultron for the show. However, fellow Avengers alum Elizabeth Olsen may also make an appearance in the project, this time in a brand new role.
This rumor comes from the social media of Hollywood insider Alex Perez at the Cosmic Circus. Recent posts seem to imply that the plan for the Vision series is to have Elizabeth Olsen play a new role in the Disney Plus show. Specifically, it appears that she’ll be playing Virginia Vision from the Marvel comic book series Vision by Tom King. In the pages of that story, Virginia is the Synthezoid wife to the titular robot.
Who Is Marvel’s Virginia Vision?
It’s no exaggeration to say that Marvel heavily simplified Vision’s origin for the MCU. In short, the robot was originally created using the brain waves of the hero Wonder Man. When he got his own comic series, he created his own wife Virginia Vision using the Scarlet Witch’s brain waves. If the Disney Plus series sticks to these origins, it only makes sense that Elizabeth Olsen would play the character given her prior role as Wanda Maximoff.
If this rumor is true, it would also likely mean that Virginia Vision’s twins Vin and Viv will make their MCU debut in the Disney Plus series. This would almost bring Vision’s character full circle to where he was in WandaVision, especially if Elizabeth Olsen does return to play a new role. Though given how little Marvel has revealed about the show, nothing is truly certain.
Vision is set to land on Disney Plus in 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Vision and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
