Walt Disney World is officially preparing to slowly reopen all of its parks throughout July following the coronavirus pandemic.
Walt Disney World has revealed its plans to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force for a staggered reopening of all its parks throughout July. Following its closure back in March thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, Walt Disney World plans to reopen two parks on July 11. The first two areas to reopen will be Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, with preparations being made to let guests into Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot shortly after on July 15. Visitors will have to follow strict guidelines during reopening, which Shangahi Disneyland already implemented when it reopened back in May.
Disney World will test all guests temperature before entering the park, with visitors also being required to wear a mask at all times. Large-crowd events like parades as well as meet-and-greets with characters are also postponed for the time being to ensure safety for guests and staff alike. There’ll also be a number of sanitzation stations situated across each park. Disney Parks executive Matt Simon said the company is committed to providing the magic guests know but that safety is a top priority.
“Everything we’re doing during this unprecedented time is in service of our guests, our cast members and our third-party operating participants, who will also be following these new guidelines in their locations. We are constantly monitoring conditions and best practices, and we continue to learn every day from health and government authorities. As a result, our operational changes and safety measures may change from time to time as circumstances evolve. We want to deliver all the Disney magic you know and love with safety, as always, our top priority.”
