The end of What If…? is upon us! The trailer for season 3 gives fans their first look at the craziest multiverse stories yet put to screen!
Fans were disappointed when news first came out that What If…? would end with season 3. For a project with truly infinite possibilities, it almost seems silly to cut it short before even hitting 30 episodes. Luckily, it seems Marvel is going out with a bang, with their final season being the biggest and craziest to date.
The new trailer for What If…? season 3 brings the beloved heroes further from the main timeline of the MCU than fans have ever seen before. From western classics, to Gundam-inspired epics, this final season has something for everyone. That includes X-Men fans, with one of the most beloved mutants finally making their debut in the MCU.
How What If…? Ties Into The Multiverse Saga
While the appeal of What If…? lies in its anthology style of story telling, that doesn’t mean the series is without a storyline. The project has had clear through lines with Captain Carter, Kahhori and Uatu which seem to be continuing into season 3. It’s likely that the events of the final season will be setting up those key characters, if not more, to debut in Avengers: Secret Wars.
It’s also possible that What If…? season 3 won’t be the final season. While the trailer makes it clear that this will be the season to wrap up the existing storyline, it’s possible that Marvel enjoys the concept so much that they greenlight another leg of it following the conclusion of the multiverse saga. Though given how critical reaction has been to the multiverse, it’s not something anyone should hold their breath on.
