WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle Spoke To Kevin Feige About Marvel Role

Will Kurt Angle enter the ring!?

Kurt Angle Kevin Feige MCU

Retired WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Kurt Angle has revealed he’s spoken to Kevin Feige about a potential MCU role. However, it seems as though landing a role isn’t as easy as many people think.

The worlds of wrestling and acting have long been connected. From the infamous Suburban Commando starring Hulk Hugan to the critically acclaimed performances of former wrestlers like Dave Bautista in Guardians of the Galaxy and John Cena in Peacemaker, there always seems to be a wrestler trying to make a jump from the pay-per-view to the big screen. WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Kurt Angle revealed he too tried to make the jump, but it’s not as easy as actors like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson make it seem:

“I’ve tried many times,” Angle confessed on his podcast The Kurt Angle Show. “It’s not that easy.”

Kurt Angle finally had his chance when it was announced that his nephew-in-law Jon Bernthal would be reprising his role as the Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again. Angle was able to leverage that connection for Kevin Feige’s contact details, to which he apparently landed a response:

“I ended up getting [Feige’s] contact information and I reached out to him and told him that I’d be interested in doing a Marvel movie,” Angle explained. “He actually responded to me but nothing ever came of it. I talked to him, but unfortunately, nothing has occurred since then.”

While Kurt Angle wasn’t able to secure the role, it seems as though another WWE wrestler has had better results. Recent set photos from Captain America: New World Order reveal that WWE Superstar Seth Rollins has joined the cast as a member of the Serpent Society. While it’s unfortunate Angle seems to have been passed over for the role, it does at least assure fans the door between films and the ring is still open!
