Black Manta actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II refuses to clarify his Aquaman clown work comment in a hilarious post.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made his DC Universe debut as Black Manta in Aquaman. The actor would then go on to star in Watchmen, Trial of the Chicago 7, Candyman, and The Matrix Resurrections and is set to return to the role for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, the actor recently said something that turned a few heads.
The Actor Has Some Fun
In a recent interview, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II likened his part in Aquaman to clown work. This was part of a much larger interview where he compared the Black Manta part to roles in other films like Trial of the Chicago 7. Upon seeing a headline taking this quote the actor took the opportunity to respond. Rather than clarify his comment, however, he opted to have a bit of fun with it, posting a picture of himself in a clown nose:
