Justice League director Zack Snyder has shared his thoughts on the first trailer for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.

During the DC FanDome event, Warner Bros. released the first official trailer for the Matt Reeves-directed The Batman, which sees Twilight alum Robert Pattinson replacing Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne. Zack Snyder, who cast Affleck in the role of the DC Comics hero, recently commented on the Batman sneak peek.

This past weekend, Zack Snyder dropped by the Reel in Motion podcast to discuss a number of topics, including his Justice League cut and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. When asked about the Batman trailer, Snyder had the following to say:

“I actually just texted Matt [Reeves] after and I was like, ‘What the f***! This is cool! I loved it. I thought it was so cool. I thought it was the right direction and everything about it. As far as just being a fan, it’s the kind of movie I want to see, so I felt like [two thumbs up].”

During DC FanDome, Warner Bros. also dropped a trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut, which is coming to the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. Both The Batman and the Snyder cut of Justice League will be released next year.

Plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, but we know that the project will revolve around Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment to a new trilogy starring Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman is currently set to hit theaters on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news regarding Zack Snyder and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman universe, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content.
