Warner Bros. and DC are currently at work developing a Batgirl film and, of course, fans already have their own ideas about who should play the heroine. Among the frequently suggested actresses for the role is Zoey Deutch, the star of projects such as Zombieland: Double Tap and Netflix’s Set It Up.
In fact, Zoey Deutch has expressed her interest in playing Batgirl and it appears her willingness to portray the DC hero has not wavered. When a Twitter user openly asked if Zoey Deutch could just play Batgirl, the Set It Up star replied with a simple, “pwease,” accompanied by a bat emoji.

Zoey Deutch will soon re-team with Set It Up co-star Glen Powell, writer Katie Silberman, and producers Juliet Berman and Justin Nappi on a new romantic comedy for Netflix. Tentatively titled Most Dangerous Game, the new project will not be a follow-up to Set It Up.
Joss Whedon has previously signed on to write, direct, and produce a Batgirl film before exiting the project, stating he could not crack the story for the project. A couple of months later, Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson was hired to pen the Batgirl script after reportedly impressing Warner Bros. with her work on the screenplay for Birds of Prey.
Batgirl is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
