One of the most prominent characters to get that treatment has been Wonder Woman, as she is the only member of the Trinity without a project actively in development. Almost every female actor under the sun has been thrown out as a suggestion, from Ana De Armas to Alexandra Daddario.
Yet the fancasting that seems to be picking up the most steam recently is Adria Arjona. While far from a blockbuster star, the actress has had multiple iconic roles in projects like Andor, Morbius, and Hit Man. Her solid record seems to be enough for fans to campaign for her to play Wonder Woman in the DC Universe. In fact, the noise got so loud it managed to reach the actress herself!
Adria Arjona Reacts To Wonder Woman Fancast
During a signing autographs at the premiere of The Minecraft Movie, the fan casting was brought to the attention of the actress. According to a translation of the remark by ComicBookMovie.com, Adria Arjona seemed all-in on the prospect of Wonder Woman, stating “write about it… help me”. So while she seems not to be on the radar of the DC Universe’s casting department, she may be soon!
Of course, it’s likely that a Wonder Woman project is being worked on behind the scenes. It’s just that, given the messy situation regarding Gal Gadot’s separation from the role of Wonder Woman, it’s likely better to keep plans under wraps until they’re finalized. While it’s not likely any fancasting will be picked for the role, it’s certain that Adria Arjona is at the top of many fans’ lists.
