Today, Disney unveiled the first official images of Will Smith as the Genie in the live-action remake of Aladdin and fans have taken to social to express their discontent.
Living up to Robin Williams’ hilarious and beloved performance as the Genie was always going to be a difficult task, but many were willing to give Will Smith the benefit of the doubt after the actor was cast as the comedic jinn in Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake. However, reactions to the first official photos of Will Smith as the Genie have not been positive, with many complaining about the actor’s hair and noting that this version of the character resembles Sinbad more than Robin Williams’ loveable cartoon jinn.

The Genie not being blue isn't even the worst part. It's Will Smith's hair. #Aladdin

Will Smith as the Genie in live action Aladdin is… hm. Is "national tragedy" too rough? Probably. It's a scourge on humanity.

Will Smith as the genie looks like he might have finally found a movie worse for his career than After Earth.
Maybe I'm wrong, and it'll be huge, and people will love it. But man, that first image sure looks bad to me….

After the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp, many were theorizing that the Avengers would have to rescue Scott Lang from the Quantum Realm and subsequently use the alternate dimension to travel back in time to defeat Thanos. While it appears Scott Lang managed to escape on his own, he may have brought the van containing the way to the Quantum Realm to the Avengers’ front door.
