Alan Tudyk’s newest role in the DC Universe has officially been revealed! Many fans didn’t even notice the beloved actor in the latest clip from Superman.
Alan Tudyk is quickly becoming a mainstay in the DC Universe. While the actor has played many, many DC characters before, he’s been on a tear through the franchise’s most recent reboot. This includes playing characters like Clayface and Doctor Phosphorous in Creature Commandos. And it seems he isn’t done filling his rolodex quite yet, as it was revealed that Tudyk would be appearing in the upcoming Superman film in an undisclosed role.
This news sparked quite a bit of speculation regarding who he would be playing in Superman. Some thought he would simply reprise one of his prior DC Universe roles, such as Doctor Phosphorous or William Magnus. Others thought that he’d be landing an entirely new role, with the most popular idea being him playing the Milton Fine version of Brainiac.
Who Is Alan Tudyk Playing In Superman?
The truth about the actor’s role was revealed during a 5 minute sneak peek for Superman shown off at Cinemacon. The clip was also released online, featuring an injured Superman being dragged back to the Fortress of Solitude by Krypto. It’s there that Alan Tudyk’s new character is revealed, with the actor voicing Robot 4, the one which remarks robots have no emotions.
Alan Tudyk isn’t the only actor joining the DC Universe as a robot in Superman. Robot 12 will be voiced by Grace Manning Chan in her first supporting role in a feature film, having previously been a dancer in projects like Descendants 4: The Rise of Red and Lyle Lyle Crocodile. It’s certain some other of James Gunn’s friends will be voicing the rest of the robots, with many betting Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn will be among the voices featured.
