‘Andor’ Showrunner Confirms When Season 2 Starts Filming

The second season will most likely arrive in 2024.

Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy says the second season will begin filming later this year.

The buzz around Andor appears to be very positive based on the social media reactions from critics. Lucasfilm has already announced the Star Wars series will get a second, 12-episode season leading directly into Rogue One. The final season is said to feature a time jump every three episodes and will introduce K-2SO at some point.

When Does Andor Season 2 Start Filming?

Making Star Wars previously reported Andor‘s second season would begin filming this fall in the UK. Showrunner Tony Gilroy recently confirmed the season two start date to TheWrap:

We start shooting in November on Part 2. And I don’t know if … Our past pattern was two years, but I mean, I’ll be on … We’ll shoot from November to August. And then our post[-production] last time was about a year.”

Here is the synopsis for Andor:

“The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”

Andor stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Reilly. Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Stephen Schiff, and Beau Willimon served as the writers of the Star Wars series, while Toby Haynes, Susanna White, and Benjamin Caron directed the episodes.
