‘The Flash’: Andy Muschietti Surprised With DCEU Film’s Theme Snippet On Birthday

Here's a taste at how the score for 'The Flash' may sound like!

Ezra Miller Sasha Calle The Flash Supergirl

The Flash director Andy Muschietti received a special birthday surprise which may feature a snippet from Benjamin Wallfisch’s score for the DCEU film.

It’s no secret that much of the press behind the upcoming DCEU film The Flash has been marred by the controversies from its star, Ezra Miller. But with that situation continuing to fluctuate following Miller’s public apology, commitment to seek treatment, and recent visit to the Warner Bros. lot to meet with executives, the film looks to continue its post-production process. Director Andy Muschietti recently celebrated his birthday, and now he received quite the surprise.

Is this part of the score for the DCEU film?

Andy Muschietti‘s sister Barbara Muschietti, who also serves as a producer on The Flash, shared a video on her official Instagram featuring composer Benjamin Wallfisch conducting an orchestra, performing a special arrangement of “Happy Birthday” featuring an intro that certainly sounds like a snippet of the score for the DCEU film.

Along with The Flash, Benjamin Wallfisch has also composed the scores for Andy Muschietti’s IT duology, as well as Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049, and David F. Sandberg’s Lights Out and the DCEU film Shazam!.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.

In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.

The Flash is currently set for release on June 23, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Andy Muschietti’s DCEU film, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
