‘Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’ Turns The Tides With New Poster

Aquaman turns the tides!

Fans have already resigned themselves to the idea that Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be the next DC Studios flop. A new poster for the film seems to turn the tide with fans of the DC Universe.

A string of recent critical and commercial failures have left DC fans to wonder if DC Studios can ever have success again. Many have already written off Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom as yet another flop. However, the film’s first trailer along with a stunning new poster seem to turn the tide of public opinion to the side of the DC Universe sequel:

It’s not likely Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will pass the billion-dollar benchmark of its predecessor. However, simply making back its budget would be seen as a massive success for DC Studios following projects like The Flash turning out to be a historic failure. Only time will tell if Jason Momoa will be able to break the DC Universe curse once again.

The future of the DC Universe

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.

Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe Flash, and Blue Beetle have all been released following the announcement of the new DC Universe, with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom still slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
