The latest promo for Aquaman features the titular hero returning to his home on the surface.
One of the big, if not the biggest, selling points of Aquaman is the incredible undersea world that the crew behind the film has worked so hard to bring to the big screen. The underwater landscapes, creatures, costumes and weapons all make the film look like an underwater Star Wars but the whole movie won’t be taking place under the sea. The trailers have featured plenty of exciting action on the surface as well.
In a recent extended trailer for Aquaman, fans got a more detailed look at some of the action that will be taking place on the surface. The footage featured a huge tidal wave, Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) taking part in a rooftop chase against Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and his goons, and even Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) taking part in a close-quarters fight scene in a house. The latest teaser for the film promises a more emotional element on land in the form of Arthur and his father Thomas Curry (Temuera Morrison). Check out the footage in the video below.
Although Aquaman doesn’t hit theaters until next month, some lucky folks have seen the film and word of mouth so far has been positive. Given that this is DC’s first film to kick off the new direction of the DC Extended Universe since 2017’s Justice League, that word of mouth is exactly what this film is looking for to bring it to the top of the crowded December box office. The DC solo film will be one of several comic book films releasing this holiday season but if the early reviews are any indication, fans will be pleased when it hits the big screen this Christmas.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Aquaman as soon as more information becomes available. What’s your opinion of the latest teaser? Which of the comic book films hitting theaters this Christmas are you most excited to see? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
