Dialogue In ‘Age Of Ultron’ May Hint At Deaths In ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Thanos Avengers Endgame Age of Ultron Infinity War Tony Stark Marvel Studios

It always somehow links back to Age of Ultron, doesn’t it? Or, at least, the theories about how that film will somehow inform the events of Avengers: Endgame, as well as how fans theorized that the second Avengers film would set up events in Infinity War. We’ve heard before how Tony Stark mentioned “the endgame” in Age of Ultron, but one Reddit theory expands on that scene and points towards the additional dialogue in that scene. More to the point, how it could have set up two key deaths in Avengers: Endgame next year.

In that same scene in Age of Ultron, after Tony talks about “the endgame” in reference to the events of the Battle of New York from The Avengers, he asks the rest of Earth’s mightiest heroes how they planned on beating that. Steve Rogers, ever the optimist, responded that they would beat it together. Okay, and if they lost? Again, Steve stated that they would do that together, too. Given the somber tone of the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame, easy to understand, given the ending of Infinity War, it seems that a huge risk will be taken.

A risk that could result in the defeat of Thanos, but with a heavy cost. Well, after half of humanity has been snapped out of existence- I am not referring to it as The Decimation- you’ll pretty much need to pull out all of the stops in order to best the Mad Titan in Avengers: Endgame. Here, have a look at the theory posted on Reddit:

Rewatched Avengers: Age of Ultron from FanTheories

It’s a given at this point that many, if not all of the deaths in Infinity War will be undone by the time that Avengers: Endgame is all said and done, but the question remains at what cost? Will one or several heroes pay the price? And how would they reunite to begin with? As Tony told Bruce- who had been out of the loop for quite some time- the Avengers as a whole are no more. However, given the huge losses, this may be what brings the gang back together for one last mission. Could this be what amends the rift between Tony and Steve?

And who in the end do you believe may die at the end of this film? Is this theory plausible or does it seem like a stretch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, 2019.

Tony Stark Is Adrift In Space After His Showdown With Thanos

Avengers Endgame Robert Downey Jr. Iron ManFollowing the showdown on Titan, Tony Stark and Nebula were left alone after Thanos eradicated the rest of the heroes who were present. Nebula Is With Tony

Avengers Endgame Nebula Marvel StudiosWhile Tony Stark may be lost in space with no chance of being rescued, it appears he will be accompanied by Nebula, the only other survivor of the showdown on Titan. Scott Lang Escaped The Quantum Realm

Ant-Man Avengers EndgameDuring the first post-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott Lang found himself trapped inside the Quantum Realm after his friends were erased by the Thanos snap and some speculated that the Avengers would have to rescue him. Hawkeye Is Definitely Ronin

Avengers Endgame Hawkeye Ronin

After months of speculation, the Avengers: Endgame trailer essentially confirmed that Hawkeye will assume the Ronin mantle when he returns. Furthermore, Captain America line about losing family being said over footage of Clint Barton's appearance suggests that the archer's family perished in the decimation and their deaths prompted him to take on a new identity.

They Know Spider-Man Is MissingAvengers Endgame Marvel Studios Spider-ManDuring the trailer, Bruce Banner can be seen assessing a list of victims of Thanos' decimation and it appears the team knows Spider-Man is among the missing. This may come as a surprise to some considering Spider-Man was with Tony Stark during the events of Infinity War.

Captain America's Winter Soldier Suit is Back

Captain America Avengers Endgame Winter SoldierAfter returning in Avengers: Infinity War with a full beard and disheveled costume, Captain America will return to a more familiar look that includes the suit from The Winter Soldier.

Thanos Is Still Wearing The Burned Gauntlet

Avengers Endgame Thanos Marvel StudiosAfter Thanos acquired all six Infinity Stones and used them to accomplish his mission, the gauntlet he used to harness their power was severely damaged. However, it appears the Mad Titan continues to wear the worn gauntlet, perhaps in an effort to ensure no one else can wield the power of the stones and undo his actions.

The Avengers Have A Plan

Avengers Endgame

Though all may seem hopeless, our heroes aren't heading into their next showdown with Thanos without a plan. Hopefully, it will work, because Steve Rogers certainly seems concerned about what they will do if the Avengers fail for a second time.
