Ghost Rider may finally be joining the MCU! The Spirit of Vengeance is reportedly set to return in Avengers: Doomsday thanks to the latest rumor.
It’s clear that Marvel is hiding some major reveals for Avengers: Doomsday. With how many MCU mainstays are missing from the current line-up of the film, everyone but the most blinded of fans can see that there are more heroes set to return than meets the eye. Which has given the rumor mill the perfect opportunity to spread news, real or otherwise, about who may be making an appearance.
The latest rumor of this nature comes from DanielRPK, who confirms that one of the big cameos that Marvel is holding back for Avengers: Doomsday is Ghost Rider. This would be the first time the Spirit of Vengeance has appeared in a film in nearly 15 years. It would also technically mark their return to the MCU, with the biker appearing in the dubiously canon Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Is Ghost Rider In Avengers: Doomsday?
The only question, if this rumor is true, is what version of Ghost Rider will actually appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The prevailing theory online is that Nicolas Cage will officially make his return as Johnny Blaze following his infamous duology. It certainly wouldn’t be shocking for Marvel to bring that version of the character into the MCU, especially considering how closely Cage has worked with the franchise in recent years.
However, Nicolas Cage making his return isn’t the only possibility. There was a lot of buzz earlier this year over the idea that Ryan Gosling may make his MCU debut as Ghost Rider during Avengers: Doomsday or an adjacent project. Gosling has also been in close ties with Disney thanks to his role in Star Wars: Starfighter, meaning this wouldn’t be completely out of the realm of possibility.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
