Venom may be finally making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe! A new rumor suggests Avengers: Secret Wars will explain the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans were on the edge of their seat waiting to see how Venom would play into the film. With old villains already confirmed to be crossing over into the MCU, many expected the film to play off the post-credits scene in Venom: Let There Be Carnage in a big way.
However, when Spider-Man: No Way Home finally hit theaters, fans were disappointed to discover that Venom was nowhere to be seen. In fact, Eddie Brock’s brief appearance in the movie amounted to a gag post-credits scene that left a chunk of the symbiote in the MCU, never to be addressed again. That is, until Avengers: Secret Wars.
How Avengers: Secret Wars Will Redeem Venom
This latest rumor comes from Alex at MyCosmicCircus, who confirmed that Avengers: Secret Wars will follow-up on the post-credits scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home. This means that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will finally interact with the Venom symbiote in the MCU, potentially giving him his own black suit leading into his next film.
This certainly has basis in the comics. Avengers: Secret Wars is where the original black suit came from, albeit it didn’t go by the name of Venom at the time. Rather, it was more of an aesthetic upgrade for such a momentous event. Though given the MCU has done nothing with the symbiote since Spider-Man: No Way Home, even a physical acknowledgement will be more than enough to satsify fans.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
