Jacob Batalon has high hopes!

Will Ned Leeds return in Spider-Man 4? Jacob Batalon has revealed if there are any plans for him to reprise his iconic role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

To many, Spider-Man: No Way Home was the perfect end to the stories of MJ and Ned Leeds, with Peter Parker turning away from his old life to focus on his heroism. However, with recent rumors indicating Zendaya will return to the MCU in Spider-Man 4, fans have been wondering if Jacob Batalon will be getting a similar call. When asked, Batalon admitted he’d love to reprise his role as Ned Leeds, but he hasn’t heard anything about it.

“I mean, I would hope so,” Batalon told The Direct. “I think just with anyone who’s worked for Marvel knows that you kind of just like wait for a call. Maybe it does [happen], maybe it doesn’t. But it’s something that you definitely can’t hope and wait for. You just like, you will wake up one day to a call at like 4:30 in the morning for no reason. You know, so maybe.”

Even if Jacob Batalon was contacted to return as Ned Leeds in Spider-Man 4, it wasn’t likely he could talk about it in that interview. However, given Marvel is still looking for a director to helm Tom Holland’s next trilogy in the MCU, it’s understandable that Batalon would be lower on the priority list to contact.

When Will Spider-Man 4 Release?

It’s been nearly two years since Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters, and there’s still no word on when Spider-Man 4 will even start filming. The only update given by Tom Holland revealed that he’s involved in creating the story, but not how far along into production that story is.

Rumors suggest Marvel is looking to begin production on Spider-Man 4 this fall in the hopes of getting the project added to the MCU’s slate for late 2025. Drew Goddard and Justin Lin have reportedly been in talks to direct Spider-Man 4. However, given Goddard just became attached to the upcoming sequel to The Matrix and Lin’s One Punch Man movie has found its writer in Dan Harmon, it’s not likely either will be free enough to work on the project.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
