The stunt double for Ben Affleck on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice explained why he was excited to use guns as the Dark Knight.

A stuntman for Ben Affleck in Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad recently opened up about why using guns as the Caped Crusader got him excited. Richard Cetrone recently spoke to the Batman v Superman: By The Minute podcast about working on the Zack Snyder film and dived into his role doubling for Ben Affleck during the many action scenes the hero was involved in. The stuntman also revealed in a separate interview that he shot more as the vigilante in Suicide Squad.

When speaking to the podcast about the 67th and 68th minute of the film, which sees Ben Affleck’s Batman fight off Superman’s personal army in the Knightmare timeline. Richard Cetrone explained Bruce using guns in the physical brawls as well shooting at enemies was fun to perform. He pointed out that seeing the hero wield rifles was something fans had never seen before in live action. Take a look at what the stuntman had to say about working on the film.

“I knew that we were going to incorporate the guns and not so much for the shooting aspect of the guns, but I knew that we were going to incorporate the guns in strikes. That seemed like that could be a lot of fun for me because I had guns in each hand, and I could incorporate them into the fights and go back to shooting and go back to fighting because the guys are coming at you in all directions. You have Batman walking around carrying guns, he’s got a primary he’s carrying on a sling, and he’s got a secondary he’s carrying on his hip, you never see that.”

What do you think about Ben Affleck’s Batman using guns in the film? Do you think it’s appropriate for the setting and tone or does it really go against everything the Dark Knight stands for? Sound-off in the comments below!
