An official Marvel Legends Series packaging reveals Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch in his Defender Strange suit.

Marvel Studios is still celebrating the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, a film in which Benedict Cumberbatch reprised his role as Doctor Strange. The film, which explored the concept of the Multiverse looks to lead into the events of the next entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Based on the first official trailer released for the highly-anticipated sequel, Benedict Cumberbatch’s titular hero is embarking on one of the most perilous journeys that any character in the MCU has gone on. Given the fact that the concept of the Multiverse is one that he himself said they know “frighteningly little” about, it sure looks like anything that can go wrong will probably go wrong. With that in mind, some drastic measures may need to be taken.

In this new packaging from Marvel Legends Series, an upcoming tie-in collectible for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness finds Benedict Cumberbatch in a new Defender Strange suit. The packaging features the following description:

“Doctor Strange is earth’s foremost magical defender, safeguarding our dimension against supernatural threats from across the multiverse.”

To borrow a quote from the trailer, “Things just got out of hand.” The sorcerer can be seen in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home. Here’s the synopsis:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx, with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
