Blue Beetle director Angel Manuel Soto says that the film still has Warner Bros Discovery’s full support.
Since the summer began, Warner Bros Discover has made a number of questionable moves. This started with the cancelation of the HBO Max Batgirl film and the removal of a number of shows from the streaming service. Some have openly wondered whether or not Blue Beetle will be on the chopping block but the film appears to be safe for the time being.
For the most part, the cast and crew of Blue Beetle have kept quiet on Batgirl‘s cancellation. When asked about it the film’s star, Xolo Maridueña simply referred to Leslie Grace’s thoughts on the matter. Now director Angel Manuel Soto has opened up a bit on the matter.
The Director Speaks Out
While speaking to NPR, Blue Beetle‘s director admitted that when Batgirl was canceled, there was some initial worry but the higher-ups at Warner Bros Discovery stated that the film had their full support:
“I’m not going to lie. There was concern, anger, fear at first. They told me not to worry, the film has their full support.”
