Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has expressed interest in joining the Fast and Furious franchise!
One of the most enduring franchises of all time is surprisingly Universal’s Fast and Furious. What once began as a riff on Point Break slowly evolved into full-on superheroic melodramas that rival the likes of DC and Marvel. Arguably one of the biggest franchises in the world, Fast and Furious has consistently reinvented itself and has attracted dozens of superstars to join its roster, with the most notable being Dwayne Johnson, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and now Aquaman star Jason Momoa.
It looks like another superhero wants to join Dominic Toretto’s street gang as Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has expressed interest in joining the franchise! Speaking with Uproxx, the Marvel hero gushed about her love for Fast and Furious and openly admitted that she wants to join the crew’s next adventure.
“One hundred percent. Please tell everybody I would of course want to be in a Fast & Furious movie. I’m obsessed. I love them. I think they’re so good. They’re so fun. And they’ve made me appreciate cars. And it’s something that should be appreciated. They’re incredible.”
The interviewer went on to ask the Oscar-winning actress if she’d be interested in having the Avengers crossover with Fast and Furious. We’re not sure how that would work but Brie Larson was open to the idea!
“Whoa! That’s a gazillion-dollar idea. I’m down to play new characters and whatever. Whatever it takes, but I’m very down for a crossover moment. I think you’ve tapped into something that is a true love of mine, so I would be so down.”
Here is the official synopsis for the franchise’s latest installment, F9: The Fast Saga:
Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, this year’s The Suicide Squad).
F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.
Directed Justin Lin from a script written by Daniel Casey, Fast and Furious 9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
