A brand new trailer for Pixar’s Lightyear starring Chris Evans debuted during the Oscars.
Although Pixar has had a long absence from the big screen thanks to the releases of Soul, Luca, and Turning Red as Disney Plus exclusives, it looks like their return to the big screen will be in the form of Lightyear. The film, which is an in-universe Toy Story spin-off film centered on the origin story of the original Buzz Lightyear that the toy voiced by Tim Allen is based on, is a sci-fi adventure in which we meet the space ranger in his early career, this time voiced by Chris Evans.
Last week, a new trailer for Pixar’s Lightyear surfaced the internet, and now we have some new footage in a trailer that debuted during the Oscars. As expected, we get to hear more from Chris Evans‘ voice performance as Buzz, along with some of the new characters that will also embark on this adventure with him. We also get another exciting look at his archnemesis, Evil Emperor Zurg.

As one of Pixar’s most iconic characters, Buzz Lightyear has been a beloved figure since he first debuted on the big screen in 1995 with the original Toy Story. Given that the character is based on a sci-fi story that Andy likely was a big fan of, it’s exciting to see the exact movie that he probably went to go see in the theater, and what type of adventures the real Buzz went on that is now possible thanks to the exciting new developments in animation technology that Pixar has at its disposal.
Directed by Pixar veteran Angus MacLane, the film features the voices of Chris Evans, Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi, Peter Sohn, Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez and Isiah Whitlock Jr.
Lightyear blasts off into theaters on June 17, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Chris Evans’ upcoming Pixar film, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
