Brand new footage from Christopher Nolan’s Tenet made its way online as the director announced the film’s Chinese release date.
Tenet director Christopher Nolan recently appeared in a video announcing the Chinese release of his mysterious science-fiction thriller, while also briefly showing off new footage from the film while expressing his love for cinema. The video announced that Tenet will arrive in Chinese theaters on September 4, coincidentally the same day Mulan will debut on Disney Plus following Disney’s surprising new strategy for the film. Christopher Nolan explained in the video that he’s a huge fan of “epic event cinema” that helps audiences escape into a fictional world.
Aside from announcing the Chinese release date, the video also gives audiences another glimpse into the new film, with someone telling John David Washington’s protagonist “When you exit the airlock, things will feel strange. You are inverted.” The footage also shows more of the world travelling backwards as well as Elizabeth Debicki’s character being seemingly kidnapped in the highway sequence. Many fans are eager to see Christopher Nolan’s Tenet because of the secrecy surrounding the plot, although the director himself teased a little about Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Robert Pattinson in the film. He was careful not to say too much, since he wants to keep the film a true surprise. Take a look at the new footage from Tenet below.
