Cillian Murphy becomes the King of Latveria.

Cillian Murphy Doctor Doom Fantastic Four Batman

A new concept design sees Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy taking on the role of the Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom for Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Plans for Marvel’s Phase 5 and 6 releases, completing the current “Multiverse Saga,” were recently announced during San Diego Comic-Con. It was confirmed that Fantastic Four would be the first film of Phase 6, arriving in late 2024, and that Avengers: Secret Wars would conclude the Multiverse Saga.

With Doctor Doom being the arch-enemy of the Fantastic Four and a key player in the events of the Secret Wars comics, it seems likely he is coming to the MCU soon, with several significant rumors pointing to an appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In a stunning piece of fan art, Cillian Murphy transforms into the MCU’s Doctor Doom.

Cillian Murphy Is Marvel’s Newest Megalomaniac

Cillian Murphy is no stranger to superhero cinema, having previously portrayed Dr. Jonathan Crane, A.K.A. the Scarecrow, in the Dark Knight trilogy for DC. Could the actor soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

A new concept design by artist “bobby_art” on Instagram depicts Cillian Murphy as Doctor Doom, Marvel’s tyrannical King of Latveria. The design shows Murphy wearing the villain’s iconic green cloak and armor, sans the mask that usually covers his scarred face.

Offering up a look at Cillian Murphy sporting Doctor Doom’s facial scars, the concept design makes a compelling case for the Peaky Blinders and Dark Knight star to take up the reins on one of Marvel’s most iconic supervillains. Check out the cool image below:

The legendary Stan Lee had often referred to Doctor Doom as one of his favorite Marvel characters. That alone should signal how much weight the villain carries in the Marvel Universe. Given his proven track record of chillingly sinister performances, Cillian Murphy could be an excellent choice to embody Victor Von Doom in the MCU.

Doctor Doom’s sworn enemy, Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four, recently appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Here’s the official synopsis:

The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the Marvel film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, John Krasinski, and Patrick Stewart.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available now on Digital and Disney Plus, and will arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on July 18th.
