Is Colman Domingo finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The Oscar-nominated actor reveals that he’s been in talks with Marvel Studios for a role.
There are hundreds of actors that fans have been campaigning to get a role in the MCU. From Sadie Sink to Taron Egerton, almost every big name under the sun has been floated for a collaboration with Marvel Studios. Though perhaps no actor has climbed those rankings quicker than Colman Domingo.
The actor is best known for his roles in Fear The Walking Dead and Candyman, leaving him a cult favorite in the fan-casting community. This popularity was supercharged when Colman Domingo was nominated for an Oscar in 2024 for his role in Rustin. Given this was around the time of Jonathan Majors’ controversial separation from Marvel Studios, many saw Domingo as the perfect candidate to take on the role of Kang in the MCU.
Who Is Colman Domingo Is Playing In The MCU?
While Colman Domingo has stated that he doesn’t have much interest in taking on the role of Kang, he’s also confirmed that his agents have been in talks with Marvel Studios for a role in the MCU. When speaking about the prospect to ScreenGeek, he admitted that a specific character hasn’t surfaced in conversations, but that he’s patient to find the perfect part for him to play in the ever-growing universe.
“I have had a meeting with Marvel, yes,” Domingo explained. “But it wasn’t specifically about anything. They literally sat down and said, ‘What do you want to do?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know. What do you got for me?’ So we’re having engagement, of course.”
“Who would not want to be a part of the MCU? I just would want it to be right. And something that is created for me and something where I feel like I can give something of myself to. So we’ll find out what that is. I don’t know what it is yet, but I’m patient.”
Many believe that Colman Domingo could play Norman Osborn in the MCU due to the actor voicing the villain in the upcoming Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man animated series. However, given Domingo states that Marvel Studios hasn’t broached him about a role yet, it’s likely that he won’t be making a live-action debut as the character anytime soon, leaving the possibilities for what role he could take on to be nearly endless.
