X-23 may be in Deadpool and Wolverine after all! Dafne Keen seemed to dance around the question of her return as Laura Kinney during a recent interview.
While many fans commend Logan for giving Hugh Jackman the perfect ending to his time as Wolverine, it also introduced fans to X-23, played by Dafne Keen. The actress immediately captured the hearts of fans as Laura Kinney, though she sadly hasn’t reprised her role since. With Jackman now set to return in Deadpool and Wolverine, all eyes have turned to Keen. When asked about the possibility, all she could express is her excitement for the film.
“I mean…I can’t wait. The trailer looked incredible!” Keen explained during a recent interview for The Acolyte. “This is all really crazy and I’m looking forward to seeing it.”
Rumors of Dafne Keen’s return as X-23 in Deadpool and Wolverine have been circulating since before the film even got its official title. Now with Keen’s non-answer, it’s almost certain Laura Kinney will make her way back to the big screen in the coming months. The only question is if she’ll wear the classic black leather, or her new Wolverine suit!
How X-23 Will Play Into Deadpool And Wolverine
If rumors are to be believed, X-23 will play a fairly sizeable role in the plot of Deadpool and Wolverine. Laura Kinney is reportedly set to join a team of rebels against Cassandra Nova, joined by Channing Tatum’s Gambit and Jennifer Garner’s Elektra. While certainly an odd trio, at the very least, Dafne Keen will be in good company!
Fans also think they’ve already seen a scene between Dafne Keen and Hugh Jackman in the second trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine. The speculation comes from the clip where Wolverine says “Trust me kid, I’m no hero”, which many believe is spoken to Laura Kinney. Regardless of where X-23 shows up, it’s certain to get one giant round of applause from Logan fans!
