‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Producer Teases Gritty World Like ‘Game Of Thrones’

Daredevil: Born Again may be darker than fans expect! A Marvel producer hints that the Disney Plus series is taking inspiration from Game of Thrones.

The main fear that fans had when it was announced that Daredevil: Born Again would be revived for Disney Plus was that Marvel would tone down the project’s violence in favor of general audiences. However, it seems that’s far from the case. According to producer Brad Winderbaum during a recent interview with ABC at their On The Red Carpet Storytellers Spotlight event during D23, the project is just as dark and complex as shows like Game of Thrones.

“Imagine if New York City was as intricate and problematic and scary as the world of Game of Thrones. All these forces vying for control, and it can be really hopeful at times, and really violent at times, and dark-but also there’s light at the end of the tunnel if you could just fight for it.”

Fans of late stage Game of Thrones may shiver at any comparison to the series. However, at one time the franchise was known for its intricate and careful worldbuilding. If Marvel took even an ounce of that planning into Daredevil: Born Again, it’s certain that the project will be different than any Disney Plus show before it, potentially even eclipsing the darkness of the original Netflix series.

The Many Forces Of Daredevil: Born Again

Early reports and set photos from Daredevil: Born Again certainly support the Game of Thrones comparison. While fans already know that Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock will be opposite poles in the Disney Plus series, there are plenty of other parties at play. This includes Muse, who appears to be the new main villain for the first season of the show.

Daredevil: Born Again is also set to reintroduce a character just as brutal as any on Game of Thrones: The Punisher. Jon Bernthal’s vigilante isn’t alone either. Early set videos suggest that the anti-hero’s actions during the course of the Disney Plus series will inspire copycats, which brings civilians to blows with one of the most iconic heroes of Marvel’s B-list.

Daredevil: Born Again will release in March 2025 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
