David Ayer recently liked a tweet discussing a rumor that his original cut of DC’s ‘Suicide Squad’ was finished and is better than the final version.
While David Ayer’s Suicide Squad wasn’t well received critically, rumors circulated for years that his original cut of the film was more closely tied to Justice League and was much better than the theatrical version. The director has often revealed plenty of concept art and other designs that didn’t make it into the final film. Recently, Ayer revealed a bizarre piece of art that seemingly shows machinery from Krypton or Apokolips.
Fans discussing the film on Twitter were surprised to see Ayer liking a tweet suggesting that a cut of his original version of the film was actually finished before the theatrical version arrived. The tweet comes from someone who supposedly spoke to an ex-Warner Bros. employee who watched the cut, claiming the executives wanted it to be closer to Deadpool‘s tone, hence the reshoots.
