It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a brand integration! DC Comics artist Clay Mann has revealed a new piece of artwork inspired by the logo James Gunn is using for his new Superman reboot.
A few days ago James Gunn revealed David Corenswet’s Superman logo in honor of the Man of Steel’s birthday and production starting on the film. This put the internet in a frenzy, inspiring piles upon piles of fanart from the symbol alone. It seems even official DC Comics artists are throwing their hat into the ring, with Clay Mann releasing a brand new piece inspired by the emblem.
Clay Mann’s DC Comics background helps bring the Superman logo, seemingly inspired by the Kingdom Come emblem, into the brighter and more hopeful tone that James Gunn seems to be going for with his upcoming reboot film. While it’s not likely Mann’s artwork represents anything more than a cool piece of fan art, fans can only hope the spirit holds true in the actual product!
Superman’s DC Universe Future
Superman is a much-anticipated project, given that Clark Kent has been an integral part of the DC Universe for over 80 years, with various iterations and adaptations across different media. The movie promises to explore the character’s origins and his struggles to balance his dual identities as Clark and Superman while fighting off villains and saving the world.
James Gunn and his DC Studios partner Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
