The death of Deadpool 2 stunt driver Joi Harris during filming in 2017 has now officially been ruled as accidental.
During principal photography of Deadpool 2 in Vancouver back in 2017, a horrific motorcycle crash on set resulted in the death of stuntwoman Joi Harris. The incident occurred when Harris, who was standing in for Zazie Beetz’s Domino, fell off her motorcycle as she went off a ramp and crashed through a window of a building nearby.
As a result of Joe Harris’ death, Deadpool 2 and the WorkSafeBC were fined nearly $300k for violating the Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. It is also worth noting that Harris was not wearing a helmet when she was performing the stunt and according Global News, the BC Coroners Service have ruled Harris’ death as accidental for the following reason:
“Harris died of blunt force traumatic head injuries after being ejected from the bike.”
