Deadpool 3 is set to bring the Merc with the Mouth into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Luckily, Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson won’t be alone in the jump to Marvel Studios, as it has now been confirmed by Deadline that Morena Baccarin will return as his wife Vanessa Carlysle and Stefan Kapicic will return as Colossus.
The casting news comes less than a week after Morena Baccarin confirmed talks of her return for Deadpool 3, though at the time no deal was reached. Joining Baccarin in her return is Kapicic, who served as an ally and foil to Wade Wilson in the first two Deadpool films alongside Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Unlike Kapicic, no word has been given on if Hildebrand will be returning for the threequel.
The cast of Deadpool 3 seems to grow with every new day. Following the announcement that Hugh Jackman would be reprising his role as Wolverine in the film, a number of other actors have been added to the series or have been confirmed to return. Late last month, it was confirmed that Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams would be reprising their roles as Dopinder and Blind Al, respectively. Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen have also joined the film, with Deadline reporting that the former would be playing a villain.
Who else is attached to the Deadpool threequel?
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.
Deadpool 3 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
