Deadpool and Wolverine may not be as big as fans expect! A new rumor reveals that two key cameos were scrapped involving Marvel’s biggest mutants.
Deadpool and Wolverine is truly set to be a “who’s who” when it comes to Marvel’s mutant community. Given the studio had been pushing the Scarlet Witch as a large part of the ongoing Multiverse Saga, many assumed that she would be a shoe-in to appear in the project, potentially meeting her father Magneto for the first time in live-action. However, according to Alex Perez at the Cosmic Circus, plans for them to make cameos have reportedly been scrapped.
“No, they are not in the movie, as far as I know,” Perez explained in a recent Q&A. “What I knew very early on were ideas that were being heavily discussed and concepts that they were interested in exploring. Unfortunately, most of these concepts don’t pan out, and you’ll have to wait for the movie to see what I’m referring to.”
This news is certain to be disappointing to Marvel fans. Magneto and Scarlet Witch are two of the biggest mutants in their catalogue. In a project as big as Deadpool and Wolverine, it almost seems criminal to scrap them from the narrative. However, given how early their cameos were cut, it’s not likely it’ll detract from the story the project is trying to tell.
The Many, Many Cameos Of Deadpool And Wolverine
While the father-daughter mutant duo may not be appearing in Deadpool and Wolverine, that doesn’t mean the project is lacking Marvel cameos. Even when it just comes to the film’s main heroes, multiple variants of them are set to appear in the project through the Deadpool Corps and Wolverine’s Patch persona.
The titular heroes will also be joined by characters from across the Marvel multiverse. The film’s trailer alone confirmed characters from Loki and the old Punisher films, along with quite a few X-Men villains. So even without the Scarlet Witch and Magneto, Deadpool and Wolverine will be packed to the gills with cameos.
Deadpool and Wolverine is currently expected to release July 26, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
