Could the X-Men have played a key role in Deadpool and Wolverine? A new rumor reveals a scrapped draft of the upcoming MCU film.
Deadpool and Wolverine seems to be a true celebration of Fox’s X-Men films, giving the universe one final send-off prior to Wade Wilson joining the MCU. However, the film’s trailer has left it unclear exactly where everything will take place. According to scooper CanWeGetSomeToast, the movie takes place almost entirely in “The Void” as established in Loki.
However, Deadpool and Wolverine seemingly didn’t always take place in The Void. Apparently the first drafts of the film were going to take place during the original X-Men trilogy. However, it seems that idea was ultimately scrapped, either due to budget constraints or to connec the film more closely to the MCU.
The X-Men Return In Deadpool And Wolverine
Deadpool and Wolverine is already set to bring back the most iconic X-Men in the form of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. However, he’s not the only mutant actor coming to the MCU. The first trailer already confirmed he’d be joined by Pyro actor Aaron Stanford, which certainly means other actors are coming down the pipeline.
The most obvious candidate up for a return is James Marsden, who played Cyclops in the X-Men films. The actor recently teased his involvement in Deadpool and Wolverine by pointing out it was filmed very close to the set of Sonic 3, though the actor ultimately didn’t confirm or deny his role.
Yet if rumors are to be believed, almost every X-Men member known to mankind will be appearing in Deadpool and Wolverine. It’s highly rumored that Dafne Keen will return as X-23 in the film, as well as that one of the prior actors for Toad will make an appearance. Heck, one rumor even claims that Taylor Swift will appear in the movie!
Deadpool and Wolverine is currently expected to be released on July 26, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
