Disney Pushes Back ‘Eternals’ & ‘Shang-Chi’ To 2021

'Eternals' and 'Shang-Chi’ have been delayed a full year amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.

Disney has officially pushed back the release dates for Marvel Studios’ Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Following the disappointing box office reception to Tenet, Disney has pushed back Marvel’s Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings further into the back half of 2021. Since Disney pushed Black Widow to May 2021, it means Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also has to shift to July 9 2021. The knock-on effect of this means Marvel’s Eternals will now arrive on November 5, 2021. The disappointing news about all the delayed release dates means Marvel fans will have gone a whole year without a new installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is in production in Australia, with a recent video showing off a sprawling village set. Obviously, fans will be most disappointed about Disney delaying Black Widow, since it was so close to release when the pandemic started to cause havoc across the world. In June Salma Hayek teased that reshoots for Marvel’s Eternals were seemingly scheduled for sometime in the future. But it seems like fans will have to wait a little longer for the first look at either of the two films thanks to the recent delays. Luckily, WandaVision will still arrive on Disney Plus later this year, so that’s still something look forward to.

What do you make of the Disney delays? Do you think moving Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings to July is a good idea? Or are you more disappointed about Marvel’s Eternals? Sound-off in the comments below!
