This surprise figure has responded to their mid-credits scene in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
As Marvel Studios fans have come to expect in the 14 years it’s dominated theaters, mid-credits and/or post-credits scenes have become the norm. This was set in stone after Iron Man first set the world on fire when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) first approached Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) to discuss the Avengers Initiative. Since then, almost every film has followed suit, with tags that tease the future installments that are in store, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is no exception.

In the mid-credits scene for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is shown minding his own business when he is stopped by Clea (Charlize Theron), who tells him that his actions committed have led to an incursion that must be stopped, to which the two unite as they enter the Dark Dimension, which was last featured in the 2016 film.
Amongst the many surprise appearances in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Charlize Theron as Clea is perhaps the most interesting, especially since most of the speculation leading up to this film was in regards to certain figures present in the Illuminati. Now that the secret has been revealed to audiences that have seen the film, the Academy Award-winning actress has responded to the mid-credits scene in question on social media:
The appearance of Clea in the mid-credits scene is particularly exciting for numerous reasons. For one, Stephen Strange spends much of the film pining after Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), who has since married another man. In the comics, Clea is a sorceress that becomes the disciple, lover, and eventual wife to Doctor Strange. Seeing that this teases the future of the franchise, it looks like this could be the natural next step in the character’s evolution.
