‘Black Adam’: Dwayne Johnson Has Brutal Response To ‘Suicide Squad’ Ayer Cut Fan

Black Adam vs. The Suicide Squad?

Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson had a brutal response to a Suicide Squad fan calling for the David Ayer Cut to be released.

2016 was a year that creatives at Warner Bros. and DC Films are still trying to move on from. That was the year in which both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad were released in theaters. Although those films are not without their fans, both were subject to negative critical receptions. Since then, the DC Extended Universe has expanded with new films, much of which are now more positively received, and upcoming films such as Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam look to continue that upward trajectory.

Although the DCEU looks to take on new horizons, some fans are still holding out hope for the David Ayer cut of Suicide Squad to be released. Funny enough, one particular fan on Twitter replied to a tweet from Dwayne Johnson, which included the hashtag, #ReleaseTheAyerCut at the end. The tweet is likely nothing more than a playful jab at Black Adam on behalf of Jared Leto’s Joker, but Johnson’s response was certainly on brand for the former wrestler:

Black Adam vs. The Suicide Squad?

Let’s be real, this tweet was likely nothing more than just Dwayne Johnson tweeting in character as Black Adam. There seems to be no ill will between him and David Ayer or Suicide Squad for that matter, and cooler heads will likely see this tweet exchange as nothing more than just playful banter. Yes, some toxic fans may respond to it thinking Johnson means malice against the release of the Ayer Cut, but ultimately, he looks forward to further expanding the lore of the ongoing DCEU with his film, and certainly has his eyes on the future.

Here is the synopsis for the new DCEU film:

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a script written by by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, the DCEU film stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.

Black Adam opens in theaters on October 21, 2022. Be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on the upcoming film, as well as the future of Dwayne Johnson and the Suicide Squad, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more original video content.
