Dwayne Johnson is starring in two DC movies this year – DC League of Super-Pets and Black Adam – and has just revealed a shock crossover between the two.
The animated DC League of Super-Pets is in theaters now and stars Dwayne Johnson as the voice of Krypto, Superman’s dog. Meanwhile, Johnson is set to appear as the titular antihero of the upcoming live-action DCEU movie Black Adam.
Taking to social media to tip fans off to League of Super-Pets‘ secret cameo, Dwayne Johnson urged fans wait until the very end of the movie’s credits for a look at his other DC character, brought to life in animation.
Black Adam Vs. Superman
In a post shared on Instagram, Dwayne Johnson gave fans a look at the two characters who show up after the credits have rolled on DC League of Super-Pets – Black Adam and his dog Anubis.
They say pets look like their owners and that’s certainly true of Anubis. His shiny black coat matches Black Adam’s suit, as do his cape and lightning bolt crest. Black Adam himself is only seen from behind in the scene, though it is clear the animated version of the character is modeled on Dwayne Johnson, who also voices him.
The post-credits scene is brief, with Anubis stealing Krypto’s squeaky Batman toy, before Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam descends from the sky to greet John Krasinski’s Superman. In his Instagram post, Johnson suggests this is just the beginning of Black Adam’s time in DC’s animated universe.
“You guys already know how I feel about SUPERMAN vs BLACK ADAM,” Dwayne Johnson wrote, referencing comments made at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The actor said that he, along with his production company Seven Bucks Productions, as well as Warner Bros. and DC Comics, “have major plans to build out the BLACK ADAM DC UNIVERSE and now the DC SUPER PETS UNIVERSE … SUPER PETS & BLACK ADAM is just the beginning.”

In “DC League of Super-Pets,” Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes.
Directed by Jared Stern and Sam Levine, the film features the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson, John Krasinski, Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Marc Maron, Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz, and Keanu Reeves.
