Dylan O'Brien transforms into The Flash!

A new concept design shows Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien as Ezra Miller’s The Flash successor.

Ezra Miller, who has portrayed Barry Allen AKA The Flash in the DC Extended Universe since 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, has been making headlines due to legal troubles. The actor was first arrested for disorderly conduct in late March, and was arrested a second time for second-degree assault in mid-April, among other troubling reports. However, Miller is still attached to the role of The Flash, despite a recent rumor that claimed Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien would take over the role.

Dylan O’Brien, the next big superhero actor?

Dylan O’Brien, most notable for his roles in MTV’s Teen Wolf series and The Maze Runner film franchise, is a common choice amongst comic book fans for certain fan-castings. Years ago, O’Brien expressed interest in taking over the role of Spider-Man after Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios agreed to reboot the character after the underperformance of Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Now, the actor’s name is often thrown around for new comic book roles, even as the rumored successor of Ezra Miller as The Flash.

In this concept design from Instagram user “barrett.digital,” Dylan O’Brien can be seen suited up as Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen successor in this updated suit design for The Flash. Here, fans can check out how his likeness looks as the Scarlet Speedster. See the design below.

Whether or not Ezra Miller gets replaced as The Flash, many are still holding out hope to see Dylan O’Brien appear as a superhero in any comic book film in the near future. In particular, some DC Comics fans see him as a potential fit as Nightwing, another character that the Teen Wolf star has been rumored to play.

In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.

The Flash opens on June 23, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of DC Films, as well as the future of Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
