Dynamic Duo is looking absolutely gorgeous! The description of footage from the DC Universe’s first animated feature is giving fans tons to chew on.

Dynamic Duo is shaping up to be the oddest project yet in the DC Universe. This is saying a lot, giving the studio has already greenlit a horror film based on Clayface and a second season of a Creature Commandos animated series. The idea of the origin of two of the franchise’s most iconic characters, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, through a stop-motion puppet film is one that rattles the mind of anyone paying attention.

The film is still very early on in production, not expected to hit theaters for another three years (at least). However, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing fans can gleam from Dynamic Duo at this time. The DC Universe project made an appearance at the WB Animation panel at CinemaCon, where exclusive footage from the film was shown off. And according to everyone that was there, it looked absolutely gorgeous.

“First footage of Dynamic Duo shown during WB Animation sizzle reel,” The Movie Podcast described on social media. “Batmobile crashes through a pillar and Dick Grayson (we think) is shown riding on the subway. Looks gorgeous.”

What Is The Dynamic Duo Film About?

Dynamic Duo is an animated film set to focus on the adventures of the young Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The project is being produced by Matt Reeves, though is not canon to The Batman universe. At this time, it’s currently unclear if the film is canon to the mainline DC Universe. Though, if it is, the puppetry-based project will be the first animated feature out for the franchise.

Given the footage description mentions the Batmobile, it’s likely that the Dynamic Duo film will exist in some sort of canon where Batman also exists. It’s also likely that the events described show Jason Todd stealing the Batmobile for a joy ride, similar to him snatching the rims off the car in his initial appearance. While only a small snapshot of the DC Universe project, it’s a promising one!

Dynamic Duo is set to hit theaters and IMAX on June 30, 2028. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
