Elizabeth Olsen’s upcoming WandaVision series could be longer than Marvel fans originally expected.

According to a new report from Murphy’s Multiverse, the first-ever sitcom from Marvel Studios could be at least nine episodes. The upcoming Disney Plus series was thought by fans to be similar in length to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, which the actor recently confirmed will total around six hours in length.

Production on WandaVision reportedly wrapped back in early March, just prior to the United States declaring the Coronavirus outbreak a national emergency. However, the cast is expected to return this July to shoot additional photography for the series.

As of now, the series remains scheduled to drop on Disney’s new direct to consumer streaming service this Winter. Plot details remain under wraps, however, the Disney Plus series is said to focus on Scarlet Witch after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The series will feature the return of both Olsen and Paul Bettany as Scarlet Witch and Vision respectively.

Here is the official synopsis for WandaVision:

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer as head writer, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role.

WandaVision will debut in December 2020. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest updates on WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen, and future Disney Plus shows and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content.
